Leo Mallet (1930–2019) was a Canadian artist known for his evocative landscape paintings, often inspired by the many travels he enjoyed with his wife of 65 years, Marie Godin. Born on January 23, 1930, in Shippegan, New Brunswick, Leo displayed artistic talent from an early age. Though primarily self-taught, he began painting seriously in 1955, developing a distinctive style that brought his love of nature and place to life on canvas. His work is cherished in private collections and homes across the country. Leo’s deep appreciation for beauty, music, and faith informed his art, which often reflected both his gentle spirit and his joy in life. He died on March 7, 2019, in Newmarket, Ontario.
