Goshawk by Edgar Thompson Jones

Framed watercolour painting “Goshawk” by Canadian artist Edgar Thompson Jones. On the back his biography reads, “Son of Alberta artist, Harry E. Jones (1891-1954), Edgar was introduced to painting at the early age of 13. A world renowned wildlife photographer and contributor to such television programs as Untamed World, Audubon Wildlife Theatre, Wild Kingdom and The Nature of Things; he has made in depth studies of every form of wildlife in its natural state. His t.v. series Adventure Outdoors wa awarded the Gold Medal for 1981 at the Canadian Programming Conference. Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and coming to Edmonton as a youngster, he call[ed] Edmonton and Alberta his home. Edgar Jones use[d] his vast collection of wildlife motion picture footage to thorougly study each subject he paint[ed].”
